The Deaths in Custody Watch Committee WA holds an annual John Pat Memorial Day in September / October of each year.
The Memorial for John Pat is in front of the Prison walls, outside 8 The Terrace. It was erected in September 1994 in memory of all Aboriginal people who have died in custody in Australia.
Poet Jack Davis contributed a poem which is inscribed on the right hand side of the memorial.
While the Memorial Day is held on an annual basis, the Memorial itself is accessible seven days per week.
