Fighting for Fremantle: The Fremantle Society Story - Ron and Dianne Davidson
$39.95
Fighting for Fremantle is the lively story of the Fremantle Society. When the Society was founded by Les Lauder in 1972 the port city was marked for the bulldozer - just like Perth. High and Henry Streets were to be widened to become truck highways; their buildings were to be destroyed. The ornate West End would have to go; the car was king. Many wonderful buildings had no protection until the Fremantle community group stopped the destruction, often after a fierce battle.
