Due to the heritage and cultural significance of the site Fremantle Prison is unable to accept certain function requests. This includes, but is not limited to, birthday parties for 16 to 25 year olds; hen's and buck’s parties, school / university balls and associated after parties; and some ticketed events.

Below are  some of the functions that can be held at Fremantle Prison:

Conference Dinners

Fremantle Prison is a popular choice for offsite conference dinners for its unique setting and ideal location in the vibrant port town of Fremantle.

Imagine your next conference dinner held within this historical building. The possibilities are endless. You could begin your evening with pre-dinner drinks in our Gatehouse, followed by a half hour tour of the Prison. Following the tour, guests will enter the function area for a formal sit down dinner in our Main Cell Block or East Workshops.

Cocktail Parties

Looking for somewhere different to hold your next corporate sundowner, 50th birthday party or Christmas function? Fremantle Prison hosts many cocktail parties for corporate and social occasions. Unwind with a few drinks and nibbles in the Main Cell Block or dance the night away in the Commissariat.

Weddings

Searching for a fitting way to begin your life sentence as husband and wife? With a number of venues suitable for both your ceremony and reception, Fremantle Prison is a popular wedding venue.

For your wedding ceremony, we can offer the choice of our Anglican Chapel, Catholic Chapel or our Terrace Gardens.

For a reception to remember there are three venues available depending on expected guest numbers and your proposed wedding date. These venues are our Main Cell Block, East Workshops, and Commissariat.

Team Building Packages

Why not combine your next staff meeting with a tour of Fremantle Prison? Before or after your meeting at Fremantle Prison, our experienced tour guides can take you on a team building Tunnels tour. Once you have descended the ladder, your group will explore dry areas of the tunnels searching for old artefacts, before hopping into small boats and paddling through the tunnels.

For the less adventurous, larger or time restricted groups, we can also offer a one hour private tour through the main prison precinct. Contact the Functions and Events Coordinator to discuss pricing, availability and options.

Meetings

Need a break from the same corporate surroundings? Fremantle Prison’s Special Handling Unit meeting room can accommodate 20 to 25 delegates. The room is equipped with a fridge, urn, tea and coffee facilities, whiteboard, DVD player, TV and projection screen. There is also a larger room in close proximity that works well for breakout space.

Our East Workshops can be made available for larger groups but please note all equipment needs to be hired in.
