As a major heritage tourist attraction it is important that the site offers visitors good facilities. The existing toilets located in the outbuildings of No 14 The Terrace were upgraded with the project being completed in May 2008.
Apart from upgrading the existing public toilets, this project also enabled the Prison to provide facilities for people with disabilities and a parent room. There were no structural changes to the building.
This project provided an opportunity for the removal of intrusive fabric that had been introduced over the years and to reveal the original form of the building’s construction.
